Commons & Communities - Social Life in the Digital Age
The Allmende (English: commons) is the property of all; it is a tract of land that belongs to the village community as a whole and upon which any villager´s livestock may graze. Every community member has an equal right to use it. With the rediscovery of the Internet as a social space, attention has increasingly turned to information networks that are freely accessible to all: the "digital commons"
This digital Allmende is a place of social innovation, a collective, realtime R&D lab for digital goods and services and new forms of human sociability.
Howard Rheingold and other participiants will talk about. at Sept./7. in the Brucknerhaus/Linz (A)
check the tribe: arselectronica.tribe.net for more details.
